Hey,
So Iâm dating a girl right now who is very career driven. She graduated from business school early in her twenties and has held the same job ever since because it gives her complete flexibility for personal life while still making a great salary. Now that she's older, she wants to take advantage of the opportunity to travel more while continuing to gain exposure at work. While I admire her ambition, I'm incredibly put off by what seems like an inability to commit to anything outside of work or have any real long-term goals. At this point in my own career, I've already made some big moves but not without sacrifices elsewhere... dating one guy exclusively who doesn't want children OR dating guys with whom she isn't even compatible because she's dating across the country. Any dating advice for someone who wants to date, but not waste time with the wrong people?
Thank you,

Dear Anonymous,
I'm sorry your friend is dating for the sake of dating rather than dating people who are compatible with her goals. It's important to recognize whether or not an individual can be supportive of what you want out of life. However, it sounds like this girl may have a lack of clarity about what she actually wants out of life - which could be why she's dating aimlessly without giving her partners a chance . She needs to sit down and figure out what's important to HER beyond finding an ambitious partner- which should ideally come before diving into dating in the first place.
Dear Anonymous,
It's great that you're dating a girl and not just dating for the sake of dating. Rather than dating across the country, she should focus on dating someone who is compatible with her lifestyle . Perhaps she is dating men who are very different from her in terms of how their lives will progress. If she wants children now or is open to it now (to catch up with you), then maybe there aren't as many options as far as dating is concerned but there still might be plenty of people out there who want what she does. However, that's not your concern at all- keep dating girls who make sense for your life and if the two of you end up together, you're welcome! It sounds like you might be dating someone who is dating across the country rather than dating for the right reasons. This is not something that I would ever do, because it's extremely draining and all-consuming. If she wants to date around or have a variety of partners, then dating someone with different goals from her own isn't going to work out .
I'm dating a girl who has been offered a dream job as an office manager for her favorite celebrity. Because of indirect ties through family friends, this famous person provided me with career advice which helped me get my first management role six months ago at 18 years old! Although this sounds great on paper, dating has been very difficult. She tells me sheâs excited about the offer but doesnât want to move cities for this job. She says she wants our relationship to continue, but Iâm unsure of dating someone who doesnât seem excited about the next chapter in her life. Any advice?
Dear Anonymous,
Thank you so much for taking my advice and dating someone because they are compatible with your life goals rather than dating aimlessly . It sounds like you're dating a girl with big career aspirations , but dating someone with aspirations that are vastly different from hers might not work out if she's unsure about what she wants for herself. You need to respect her interests while also respecting your own- here's hoping that both of you can find partners who match! As for dating around when you have big dreams of your own, dating multiple people to figure out what you want in a relationship (and dating someone who wants something similar) might end up dating you.
I dream of working as an officer manager for a popular singer by day and creating my own music on the side. I've been dating this guy for over a year and things have been going great until he offered me a management position at his work. We live about 10 minutes apart from one another but Iâm not sure how to tell him that I need time to think about dating someone whose career aspirations match mine...
Dear Anonymous,
It sounds like dating someone with big dreams is inspiring to you . That said, it can be difficult dating someone with different career goals than you if their dreams aren't connected to yours. When dating someone with similar career ambitions as your own (or dating multiple people until you've figured out what's important to you), dating might be more fulfilling because your partner matches your aspirations so well.
I want to date this girl, but she seems uninterested in dating someone who has big plans for his future
Dear Anonymous,
Am I dating too many women without knowing what my true desires are?
Dear Anonymous,
It sounds like you need some clarity about dating . You should figure out what it is that you're looking for out of the relationship and then go dating . If these girls aren't interested in dating someone with big, then they don't deserve dating .
I want to date someone who has the same interests as me. I'm dating a few people but dating is not dating anyone at all right now because dating doesn't seem to be working out for me. What can I do?
Dear Anonymous,
It sounds like you're dating multiple people without having any idea what you're looking for . Give yourself some time before dating so that you have a clear direction of where your life goals are headed- this clarity will make dating easier , too! You should also consider dating around until finally dating someone with similar interests so that you don't waste time on the wrong person.
I dream about becoming an artist by day but need stability in my life, which is why I got
