So you've been dating this person for a little while now, and it's time to take things up a notch. A road trip is the way to go. Here's how:
Step 1: Keep Your Word
If you suggest a road trip, but can't make good on your promise or bail at the last second, don't bother dating this person again, unless s/he is really hot and also hates spontaneity because those people are rare as diamonds. Even if both of those conditions are met, still do not bother dating that person again because either that person has terrible luck or no self respect whatsoever. In any case, you should have enough faith in yourself to know when someone else thinks too low of themselves to keep their word. This is dating, not politics. Keep your word or don't bother dating again.
Step 2: Make Sure There Are No Other Plans
Take someone with you if it's a special occasion like an anniversary or birthday or graduation, but keep in mind that the person needs to be on good terms with this somewhat new significant other. If you're dating someone who has friends and there are no other plans for said significant other, do not take them on the trip. You don't want to feel like you're imposing or that you're controlling their social lives, because then it falls into the same category as step one of keeping your word does above! Plus, it makes things awkward on car rides when they say they have to call their friends back at this certain stop or that they have to do laundry because there isn't enough room for it in the car. No, you can't just take their friends' word for it that everything is okay and they're not mad at you dating their friend (this is an issue with step one as well). So make sure there are no other plans before you set out on your road trip!
Step 3: Make Sure There Are Enough Pillows
You don't want neck problems like whiplash or sore spots on your shoulders from leaning against the car door too much during the drive, so bring pillows (or even an inflatable neck pillow if flying is more comfortable)! If you find yourself dating someone who doesn't even think to bring pillows, it's probably time to end things.
Step 4: Know Where You're Going
You don't want to be driving around aimlessly for days while this dating person you're with loses their mind because they didn't bring enough snacks or something equally ridiculous that doesn't have anything to do with dating them. Also, know what cities are on the way so you can stop by there if you need an extra break from driving. Unless of course dating someone who is really hot and also hates spontaneity is more important than dating someone who respects your needs as a driver. Plus, stopping in certain cities means free stuff! Always good when dating! So check out places along the way so you know where everything is located!
Step 5: Bring Water
You don't want to get cotton mouth while dating someone, especially not on a road trip. You also don't want someone dating you that doesn't bring water. Just bring some tap water in the car with you, even if it's too hot for some reason. Chances are dating these people is not worth dating anyways! So make sure to keep hydrated at all times!
Step 6: Keep It Clean
Don't leave dirty diapers lying around or dirty dishes or clothes or anything else you shouldn't leave out when dating someone new. Plus, chances are one of you has sweatier feet than the other person, so bring an extra pair of socks just in case! Have enough respect for your significant other to keep dating them
.
Step 7: Record It!
If you're dating someone who doesn't like taking pictures and videos of you guys, dating someone who is too good for road trips might be an option. If there's not enough room in the car for a camera, just ask your significant other if they have one on their phone that can take video clips. Then delete it as soon as you're done recording because chances are dating these people isn't worth dating anyways! And don't forget about sexting afterwards either! *wink wink*
Step 8: Just… Have Fun
Take lots of pictures and enjoy yourself dating someone new for once! You deserve it after all the [removed] dating those other people put you through.
Step 9: Don't Pick Up Hitchhikers or Strangers
Don't be dating someone who thinks dating you is equivalent to dating a stranger. Plus, there may be serial killers out there on dating sites looking for your dating profile, so it's probably best not to pick up hitchhikers!
Step 10: Make Sure You Have Enough Gas Money
If they are driving but don't have enough gas money, chances are dating these people isn't worth dating anyways! So make sure neither of you run out of gas before taking off in the car together!
Step 11: Bring Snacks & Drinks For The Trip
Dating someone who won't bring snacks at the very least just rude and inconsiderate. Don't date dating someone who won't bring snacks. No one wants to dating someone like that anyways!
Step 12: Have Fun
Don't get mad dating your dating personals even if things don't go well! You can always look for another dating site or dating single the next day
.
Step 13: Do Something Fun When You Get Back Home (Or To Whatever Destination Is Nearest)
Go out on a date, take your dog to the park, meet friends for coffee, anything dating works! Just have fun meeting new people in general too because you deserve it after all! And remember, no rush when dating so just have fun with dating and never settle again when looking through dating sites online
