It doesn't have to be far.
That's the idea behind the newest trend: staycations. The name might not sound as cool as sipping [removed]tails on a remote beach or exploring ancient ruins, but that's just because you haven't checked into the new hotel yet.
If you're dating someone who seems perfect, but there is no spark, maybe it's time for a little room service and some poolside lounging. As much as dating can be a thrill ride of excitement and drama, it's also exhausting trying to continue dating Mr. Right Now when nobody has made it official. If he isn't going to ask you out on an actual date soon, invite him over for a night in where you can order take out, and curl up watching a favorite movie.
If dating your special somebody seems more like a chore than anything else, it's also time to mix dating and staycationing – that is, spending time at home – into one. It could be as simple as cooking together or planning a "staycation" sleepover in the spare room with all the fixings for s'mores by the fireplace.
Don't underestimate how nice it can be to escape from everyday dating pressure for awhile. Not every date has to go perfectly so you will know without a doubt if he is Mr. Right or not right now .
Romanticizing your love life might sound like work but sometimes play can feel like work too. Take vacations from dating work where dating becomes a vacation from work.

How To Prepare For A Staycation For Men
Take a look at your bathroom sink. Is there an abundance of styling products you don't use? Are there several half-used bottles of shampoo, soap, or moisturizer fighting over space in the shower? If this is true, it might be time to hit up one of those department store sales on combs, razors, brushes, and other grooming aids. Stock up now because if you are staying home during your staycation , chances are that these items will still be sitting in their packages months from now.
So what do you do with all of this free time?
While you are dating, your time is limited by how long you can make the date last without seeming desperate or obsessive. You might be carrying around more cash than usual during dating hours, but it's nothing compared to what will happen when staycations come into play. It's true that some dating expenses vanish completely on a staycation . This includes the price of drinks at a bar, cover charges for shows and clubs, and manicures or massages that aren't covered in your salon of choice's service package. But have you ever tried hosting friends on a budget? There are people who thought they couldn't go out because of tight finances only to find out there are friends whose company they can enjoy without the excuse of dating.
If dating is more work than play, staycations can be a great way to eliminate some stress and slash expenses while you do it. Sometimes dating has us taking out our wallets when what we really want is to take someone else out. This is not only true on dating; sometimes love feels like too much responsibility for something that should be fun and relaxing instead of strenuous or draining . So spend time with your friends during your next staycation. Schedule an all-day movie marathon, plan a game night with board games (or video games if you are daring), or just order in some pizzas and reminisce about the good ol' days when dating wasn't so complicated.
Romance doesn't have to begin and end with dating. Anybody can be romantic in a staycation because this is the time when you take care of yourself and feel like your best self, even if it's just for one weekend:
· Indulge in a facial mask or bubble bath to soothe frazzled nerves.
· Donate gently used clothes, books, and other items you don't use anymore to a shelter or charity.
· Prepare home-cooked meals for you and any guests who might come over during your staycation . This includes appetizers and desserts as well!
· Buy tickets to a show that has been playing for awhile but you haven't seen yet. You can either enjoy it alone or take someone with you.
· Take yourself on an impromptu date night with your favorite DVDs, snacks, and comfy clothes.
Figure out what dating means to you without the pressure of dating in modern culture distracting you from enjoying your staycation in peace . You don't have to go far to leave your worries behind. Check into a room at the hot new hotel, sleep in, get room service, and lounge by the pool. Or spruce up your space at home for staycation bliss.
