When my boyfriend and I were in high school, this was definitely our go-to date night. We would stop at the grocery store and load up on our favorite snacks and treats. Then we would head to one of our houses and watch movies. Ya know, Netflix and chill ?. Honestly, I am cringing just typing that ??. We started dating a few months into the school year, so we were still pretty new to dating one another at that point. Some nights things turned out a little differently – -but most of the time – – we had a good time with it! For example: Once we ordered pizza during a movie but didn't eat it until because they forgot about us (oops), once we ate all of the candy before even starting a movie, or once he brought out chocolate to eat during the movie and accidentally dropped it on my face (his fault). When dating just started, I know that I personally liked spending time with my boyfriend. However, there are only so many times that you can do the typical dinner-and-a-movie before it starts to feel old. So why not try something different? You could always change up your location to make things more fun! And this is an easy way to bring back some nostalgia too! You probably remember going “all out” for your childhood sleepovers – -so now you have an excuse go ahead and be as extravagant as you want! If you don't mind your TV speakers with a little extra bass, we recommend taking over the living room and watching movies with some surround sound (bonus points if it's in 3D). Maybe even bring along a projector to project the movie onto the wall (seriously). If that feels like too much work or you're not into having everyone over for an official sleepover, then just plan it at one of your houses. Hang up some paper stars and string lights and create a fun and festive atmosphere. Just keep in mind: no matter what you do – -just make sure that both of you are having fun!
