Ever heard the phrase, ādonāt take dating advice from those who have never dated before"? Well, as somebody who has gone through two separate dating experiences (two different states, two different dating sites), I would like to think that I know a thing or two about dating. It wasn't easy going back into dating, but after being brutally heartbroken and feeling so alone for so long, I decided it was time to get back out there and try it again. This is a story of one guy's journey through online dating in Texas. He learned a LOT about himself during this process, and his attempts at making himself look presentable were actually pretty humorous.

He said: My dating profile is like my resume. I try to be funny and down to earth, but still professional when necessary. [Note: The dating siteās guidelines do not say anything about resumes.]
Me: Your dating profile is like your resume? That doesn't make sense in that context. You should probably explain what you mean by that, or drop it altogether. And also, dating sites aren't really the place for professionalism (and honestly it's kind of off-putting). [Comment originally posted on his dating profile]
Him: But...The dating site puts a box for "profession" so i put "writer" which covers all types of writing including blogging or dating profiles.
I realized dating sites are more about dating than dating tips. My profile is only professional when I need to be, like in the case of meeting my [removed] buddy's parents. And don't forget men are looking for sex too not just women! [Comment originally posted on his dating profile]
Your blog has taken a life of its own, no?
He canāt even spell āprofessionā correctly. Two years later this person is still trying to date online. He will never win Tinder or Bumble so he should probably let it go. Instead he is asking random girls what they think of his resume dating site bio. That sounds exhausting, wonder why...
By the way hello from Nebraska! What a small world.
Me: I feel like dating sites are not really for dating anymore since you have to fill out all these extra sections that donāt have anything to do with dating. If you want dating tips, just hire a dating coach or read a book about dating. And yes, Sarah is right it sounds exhausting! Good luck anyway
Him: Yes I'm very tired of the online dating scene and am going back to old fashioned dating via real life meet ups which is draining as well but at least there's a chance
I thought this was funny... -but now it's time to buckle down and be honest because everyone is starting to judge each other- how superficial they must think I am dating but i guess that's just human nature.
My dating apps are like dating sites, dating apps, dating web sites and dating profiles...they all ask for my money so they might as well be the same thing!
Interesting. I didn't think it was possible to dislike someone more than I already did until he tried to use the dumb argument that men are trying to get sex too or something. Why even say anything about meeting someoneās parents? Is he really looking for an arranged marriage now? Either way maybe you should let go of this whole online dating thing if it has made you this bitter!!! And your attempt at humor is not really working either tbh⦠What kind of dating coach would recommend dating sites to a dating coach?
Two years later: Looks like the dating sites won!!!
He's using Tinder now. Good luck!
Him: The dating app I'm on now has been so much more difficult than dating sites for some reason...but it makes sense because you have to wade through all this information before seeing people or talking with them and dating apps require way more info and pictures and seem much harder to use even if i don't know why. Like, everyone seems much better looking on dating sites but then again that could be due to blurry lighting and smaller camera angles plus we don't realize how we can deceive others by editing our photos which is another thing dating apps require as well as selfies (somehow dating sites don't?) so dating apps even have more of a dating site feel to them which is frustrating!!!
So dating apps are the dating sites, but dating sites are also dating apps? I think we can all agree that this person should not be dating. Ever.
He hasn't changed his mind about dating coaches still thinking it's "too much information" or something idk...
Him: Dating coach George Lo... i'll email you as well as others but here's an interesting concept for those who think dating coaches must only tell clients what they want to hear and ignore problems because they're too busy trying to make a buck from people with serious issues-sometimes things get worse before they get better and if anything just makes
