The first thing is whether or not this person would make a good date at the dance. Most school dances only play certain songs and you may want to know if your date likes these songs or not. Also, if you're dating this person, you should know their taste in music well enough to pick songs that they like; otherwise, it would be awkward dancing with someone who isn't enjoying the same music as you are! Well, dating is a complicated thing but dating at a dance can make it even more so.
