First impressions are really important, even in dating. If I had to give dating advice on how to not be pegged as a 'desperate loser' by girls, it would be this: be in control and remain enigmatic.
It's not about being mean or anything like that; more so ensuring the girl knows who is the boss of the relationship right from the get go. Embrace your raw masculinity by taking responsibility for everything you do - if you want something, say it; don't wait for her to ask for what she wants. Remember that women appreciate down-to-earth men with leadership qualities. Laugh at your own jokes (this might sound counterintuitive, but I promise you it works), especially when you make a self-deprecating joke.
The last dating advice piece talked about not being afraid to show your vulnerability, but being in control and remaining enigmatic is another side of that coin. Remember the best dating advice I ever got was from my mentor - 'be a mystery'. Mystery is an old school dating term for strength and leadership qualities. It's what women want from men these days, so embrace it by being the leader she wants you to be.
